Dan (Danny) Egol is the inaugural Executive Director and co-founder of IDEAS Generation – a community of next-generation leaders, practitioners, and advocates advancing IDEAS: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Social Justice in communities and organizations. Rooted in strong familial ties to both Cuba and Israel as well as his identity as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Dan is a passionate bridge builder. Throughout his career in both Cuban-American political reconciliation and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion consulting, Danny has leveraged his liberal arts education (BA, Middlebury College) and interest in organizational systems (MBA, Yale) to build cultures and policies that bring people together. He is a Point Foundation Scholar, ROMBA Fellow, Consortium Scholar, and member of the 2022 Leadership Greater Washington Signature Program.
Our cohort-based Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Social Justice (IDEAS) Fellowship combines IDEAS Generation’s existing community-building efforts, original content, professional networks, leadership development programs and client partnerships into a single, mission-scaling and field-building opportunity for IDEAS practitioners. This multi-year initiative will incubate and accelerate the capacity of next-generation leaders to advance IDEAS through skills-building intensives, mutual mentorship, compensated experiential learning and professional placement in social impact and nonprofit organizations. The IDEAS fellowship simultaneously addresses the demand and supply sides of systemic gaps in our sector (disconnected change agents, variable quality, limited professional onramps, price barriers) by helping connected cohorts of next-generation leaders access the professional development and resources to bring greater quality to IDEAS work while providing organizations with price accessible, sustained support.
